World Bank has offered Pakistan a USD 29 billion housing loan

ISLAMABAD: On housing sector development an executive meeting was held recently under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen in which senior officials of the World Bank Regional Office and New Pakistan Housing and Development Authority participated.

Chairman of NPHDA, Lieutenant General (retd) Anwar Ali and Najeeb Ben Haasan, Head of the World Bank’s Pakistan representatives were present in this meeting.

The World Bank’s representative in Pakistan stated an offer of providing a USD29 Billion easy termed loan to Pakistan for the housing sector.

World Bank would extend all possible assistance to the government in the development of the housing sector.

Shaukat Tareen was very thankful to the World Bank Representative in Pakistan, & assured such investments in the housing sector will certainly make Pakistan’s economy stable.
