Strategic Renewable Energy Projects: Pakistan and Denmark to Collaborate

A Joint Technical Working Group (JTWG) has been formed between Pakistan and Denmark on Monday 29th, with the aim of outlining the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for Government-to-Government energy agreements.
As per the news release during the virtual meeting at power division the JTWG was formed. This meeting was co-chaired by Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Lis Rosenholm.
Minister Omar Ayub acknowledged Denmark’s leadership position in clean and green energy on a global scale, but added that Pakistan was also working to harness its vast renewable energy potential.
The Danish delegation presented a report on technical assistance to Pakistan in the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors, emphasizing the importance of bilateral strategic energy cooperation.
He stated that the government had set ambitious goals to incorporate 25% renewable energy by 2025 and 30% by 2030, with a 45 percent share of hydel power generation and 10% nuclear energy in the country’s energy mix.
He also highlighted the importance of working together on projects such as wind turbine and solar panel production, energy waste reduction, and grid transmission capability enhancement.
