My name changed, Call me Meta: Facebook says

At Facebook’s Connect event on Thursday, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company’s new name would be Meta. “We are a company that builds technology to connect,” Zuckerberg said. “Together, we can finally put people at the centre of our technology. And together, we can unlock a massively bigger creator economy.”
Furthermore, he said, “To reflect who we are and what we hope to build”. He added that the name of Facebook doesn’t fully encompass everything the company does now and is still closely linked to one product. “But over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.”
In addition to the new moniker, the firm announced that its stock symbol would change from FB to MVRS on December 1.
In a blog post published Thursday, Zuckerberg stated that its corporate structure would not change, but how it reports financial results will. “We plan to report on two operating categories starting with our fourth-quarter results in 2021: Family of Apps and Reality Labs,” he stated. “On December 1, we plan to begin trading under the new stock ticker MVRS, which we have reserved.” The announcement today has no bearing on how we utilize or exchange data.”
Some people criticize this name without any logic, but many people are excited about the new name. One more surprising thing is that CEO Mark Zuckerberg is concerned about the company, and he wants to the company become more successful.
