More Rainwater Tanks in Lahore: WASA

WASA Lahore has announced the news of its decision to launch construction of two Rainwater Harvesting projects in LAHORE in coming month at different locations.
The initiative is reserved with the special guidelines of the CM Punjab Usman Buzdar with an aim to save the large amount rainwater during the season and reuse it for parks, plants and other irrigation purposes, Previously, a similar project was launched at Lawrence Road and now two more projects are being launched at Kashmir Road (near LDA Plaza) and outside Sheranwala Gate Circular Road.
The newly constructed tanks will have the capacity of preserving 1.2 million gallons and 1.5 million gallons respectively and are being developed at the cost of PKR 240 million.
WASA resources revealed that the said projects are being launches with a phase programme, where 8 more places will be highlighted in the city to build similar projects in coming year. These projects will help resolving flood issues the capital during the monsoon season.
