Information Minister announces to make flats for Journalists

Lahore: News sources reported that Fawad Chaudary (Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting ) said the government plans to build flats for the journalist community.
Minister added that the flats would be built on a 2,000-Kanal land area, with each flat measuring 5 Marlas. Minister Fawad announced during a meeting with leaders of the Punjab Union of Journalists and elected members of the Punjab Assembly press gallery in Lahore.
Under the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Programme, the journalist community would be offered easy loans ranging from PKR 1 million to PKR 3 million, he added. All of these loans will be made available following necessary authorization from provincial and federal press clubs. The government informed the journalist that the government is planning large-scale assistance and uplift programs for journalists.
Minister said the incumbent government believed in media freedom, and journalists’ reservations on PMDA will be removed. They discussed the problems of journalists and the draft of Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA).
