Lahore: The news source reported local Government (LG) Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal had approved funds to restore several historic buildings in Lahore. It issued PKR 90 million to rehabilitate the area from Wazir Khan Mosque to Kucha Shah Hussain, PKR 9 million to rehabilitate Mohabbat Khan’s Garden, and PKR 60 million for the construction, repair, and restoration of Bradlaugh Hall.
Moreover, the renovation of Moti Masjid, which took PKR 10 million and one years to complete, is now ready and open to tourists, said the Lahore Walled Authority.
Furthermore, a Toshkahana (treasure room ) has been discovered during the restoration work from the courtyard of the Moti Masjid in the Shahi Qila. It has eight feet deep and eight feet wide, while there are also dilapidated iron sheets on the walls of the Toshakhana.
It is supposed that during the Sikh era, the Moti Masjid has been used as a Moti temple. According to experts believe that this newly-unearthed Toshkhana was built at the same time.
